  • Regularly scan your computer with your anti-virus software;
  • Try to avoid using shared computers (eg at an Internet cafe) as you may be unable to check whether the latest anti-virus has been installed. If you have to use one please take precautions.
  • Use recommended software to ensure the highest level of security.
  • Avoid Spyware becoming installed on your computer - either as a hidden part of another program that you install such as file sharing or peer-to-peer software, or by another person who uses the same computer. Spyware may compromise your privacy and pose a threat to the security of your online banking activities. Anti-spyware software can be used to scan for and remove spyware.

Shared Computers
A public (or shared) computer is any computer that can be used by someone other than you. For example, those at Internet cafes, libraries, a friend or colleague's computer, schools, shopping complexs, hotels, airports, accommodation houses, youth hostels and some workplaces where more than one person has access to the same computer.

A public computer may not be as safe as a private computer. Possible risks include:

  • Viruses and malicious programs
  • Maximum security options not set

When you have finished using a shared computer we recommend you follow these steps to help safeguard your privacy:

  • Always log out of ContinuityCoach.com by clicking on log out button below the ContinuityCoach.com Logo.

If you are not sure about the security level of the public computer you are using, we recommend you find a more secure computer.
